Scissor and Beauty Shear Sharpening

The sample images next to the type of shears on the order list are a general guideline, but the additional information below may help you better choose the correct type.

Beauty / Barber Shears
any shear used by hair stylists or barbers including straight, curved, thinners, chunkers, texturizers

Serrated Grooming Shears
any shear with small teeth on one blade to help prevent fur from pushing during a cut
Note: Serrations can be added to a non-serrated shear; likewise, a currently serrated shear doesn't have to remain serrated and can be sharpened as a normal grooming shear. Please be sure to clearly communicate and identify if this is your desire.

Grooming Shears
any shear used for dog or cat grooming including straight, curved, thinners, chunkers, texturizers

Household/Sewing Shears
5 to 10 inch shears used for cloth or paper

Pinking Shears
While this shear is self-explanatory, it is important to note that there is a limited number of times a pinking shear can be sharpened based on the quality and design of the shear. Shears unable to be sharpened would not be charged.

Surgical Shears
3.5 to 4 inch shears used during surgery or for bandages

Industrial Shears
3.5 to 4 inch shears used for tin snipping or textile materials

1. If you do not have a scissor case you can use for shipment to us, please secure the tips of your scissors and/or shears with a rubberband so the blades will not be damaged in shipment.
2. Pack them securely in a box or padded envelope; there should be no rattling or shifting in the package.
3. Please enclose either a printout of your order confirmation OR a note with your name, address, and the best phone number to reach you if we have any questions regarding your order.

Though we do not require it, if you would like to insure your package, please do so. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages in transit to us.
